It was another early start…. meant we got in the shooting place at the perfect time *before the sunrise... set up the little boat, did our stuff, and hung about with egrets... just waiting the start of the daily show. Err… here, the egret was fishing for its morning meal in taman burung lagoon, in nusa dua when i captured it on my camera from a little boat. This shoot represents a kind of contrast that is difficult for built-in-programming camera meters, to interpret correctly. All of the tones, were virtually glittering. Sidelight coming from behind a body of water at low angle created such brilliant highlights that i couldn’t think too fast of proper speed & aperture values… shooting from water is difficult so i’d to use a faster shutter speed with the corresponding loss of depth of field. For beginners on manual shooting: to understand this, it’s vital to always keep in mind the basic of exposure. Exposure determination depends on two basic camera controls: shutter speed *where you click* and aperture. The wider the aperture, the less depth of field *dof* in the image and the more limited the area that is sharp. The smaller the aperture, the more depth of field *dof* in the image and the greater the range that is in sharp focus. Ahh… remember that as the numbers of f-stop get larger, the lens opening gets smaller. For example f/2.8 is larger than f/22. Complicated? :P okay, see you soon!

era outro dia começando cedinho... isto é, chegando ao lugar de fotografar no momento perfeito* antes do amanhecer... arranjar o barquinho, o equipamento e papear sobre garças... só esperando o começo do espetáculo diário. err... aqui, a garça estava pescando a sua refeição matinal na lagoa taman burung, em nusa dua, quando eu capturei a cena em minha máquina fotográfica de um pequeno barco. Esta foto, representa um tipo de contraste que é difícil, para os medidores nos programas embutitos nas câmeras fotográfica interpretar corretamente. Todos os tons, estavam brilhando literalmente. A luz lateral que aparece sobre uma massa d’água por detrás em ângulo baixo cria tais destaques brilhantes, eu não pude pensar muito rápido sobre qual velocidade & valores de abertura aplicar apropriadamente. disparar da água é difícil, assim eu usei uma velocidade do obturador mais rápida, com a perda correspondente de profundidade de campo. Para os novatos em diparar manualmente: É sempre vital lembrar-se do básico da exposição. A determinação de exposição depende de dois controles básicos da cãmera fotográfica: velocidade do obturador *aonde você clica* e a abertura. a abertura maior, dá menos profundidade de campo *dof* na imagem e limita mais a área distinta *expressiva*. a abertura menor, dá mais profundidade de campo *dof* na imagem e abrange maior área em foco apurado. ahh... lembre-se que na medida que os números de f-stop *parada* fica maior, a abertura da lente fica menor. por exemplo f/2.8 é maior que f/22. complicado? e o meu português? :P bão, até breve!
